Not that anybody needs another hot take on Christopher McCandless, but I just watched Sean Penn’s 2007 film Into the Wild so that I could review it for school, and of course one particular costume design decision stood out to me.
Because nothing says “I’m prepared for the wilderness” like a denim shirt.
Did I just fall in love today?
I totally fell in love today. So many good things in the archives–not just snarky funniness but also some suuuper interesting and informative posts about architecture. So good!
I’m stoked to try out a few products from The Ordinary that I just received today, but currently the bulk of my skinsuit maintenance products are of the Asian beauty variety. So just gonna leave this helpful thread of suggested stores here, for the next time I need to restock.
Related note–sounds like DHL is shit for Canadians, so don’t choose that option!
Oh my goodness. Jordan Peele’s Get Out is an excellent film. HOWEVER–the trailer gives away waaaaay too much of the movie, so just trust that it’s a worthwhile watch even if you’re not into horror films. Just go see it!
And it doesn’t hurt that there are a couple instances of good denim. First there is this sweet little denim shirt dress on Alison Williams:
And Daniel Kaluuya spends the second half of the film running around in this kicky number:
Of course by the end of the movie, the shirt is not so pristine anymore! (Spoiler alert: blood!)
