Not that I need anyone to approve of my (mostly) all-denim all-the-time wardrobe, but it’s nice to know that Kim France approves of a “Canadian Tuxedo.”
I’m not sure how much I actually like this song–it’s snappy, but I expect won’t have much staying power in my playlist. However, you must watch the video at least once.
Beth Ditto whipping a corn dog out of a dude’s mouth is a sight to see.
Also can’t let a denim shirt sighting pass unremarked-upon. (And that line dancing is something, no?)
Oh my goodness. Jordan Peele’s Get Out is an excellent film. HOWEVER–the trailer gives away waaaaay too much of the movie, so just trust that it’s a worthwhile watch even if you’re not into horror films. Just go see it!
And it doesn’t hurt that there are a couple instances of good denim. First there is this sweet little denim shirt dress on Alison Williams:
And Daniel Kaluuya spends the second half of the film running around in this kicky number:
Of course by the end of the movie, the shirt is not so pristine anymore! (Spoiler alert: blood!)
Jurassic Park is now on (Canadian) Netflix, and of course I had to watch. The costume design really caught my eye.
Laura Dern, you goddamn fox.
Of course I am digging the cuffed jeans and hiking boots. Very palaeontologist.
And Dr. I-Don’t-Like-Kids gets a denim shirt, too. (Also: this whole movie isn’t really so much about dinosaurs and rampant use of unproven technology, but about socializing Dr. What’s-his-nuts into liking children.)
Look at that little chambray wearing monster, all set to break down Dr. Whosit’s defences.
And I do love how after spending hours getting attacked by dinosaurs and sleeping in a tree, these two have maintained their perfectly tucked-in shirts. Good for keeping continuity, but perhaps not so realistic? No child likes to tuck in a shirt, especially into jeans.
But I know what you’re really wanting to see.
No denim in this shot, but still plenty to look at, no?
… but this thing from ASOS is a stone-cold atrocity.
It is even mostly sold out, so apparently there are women out there wearing this thing! Good luck to you, ladies. You are far braver than I!
First off: happy screams that Jane Marie is on The Hairpin! There is a The-Toast-dot-net-sized hole in my heart (that is, a gaping chest wound) since the site shuttered earlier this summer, but The Hairpin has had some good moments lately, and seeing Jane Marie back there is a good one.
Second: I totally scoffed at the concept–after all, I wear a lot of denim–but the sketches and outfits look cute.
Third: but does she only draw thin women?
I’d like to flip through this book once, but don’t feel the need to own it.
